1.What is the cost for pursuing higher education in Australia?
A. Tuition fees will differ upon the course and the university in which the student is opting to study.

2. Are IELTS / TOEFL exams mandatory for seeking admission into an Australian university?
A. Yes, it is mandatory to write the IELTS/ TOEFL English proficiency testing exams for seeking admission into any Australian university

3. How long does an Australian Master’s degree take?
A. Usually it takes around1.5 yrs – 2 yrs and it varies from university to university. Some it depends also on the course selected by the student.

4. Will I be allowed to work while studying in Australia?
A. Yes, in Australia students are allowed to work atleast 20 hrs / week and during their semester vacations they can for a longer period.

5. Do I need a student visa to study in Australia?
A. Yes, the student needs to apply for a student visa/study visa to apply for any Australian universities.

6. Can a student extend their study visa after completion of their education in Australia?
A. Yes, students can extend their ‘student visa’, if they have completed their studies within the expected duration.

7. How can I change my program of study after arriving to Australia?
A. A student needs to obtain permission from the University for changing of their specialization during the semester. If a student changes qualifications, student may have to submit a new student visa application altogether.

8. Are scholarships available for international students while studying in Australia?
A.Yes, usually scholarships are offered for postgraduate studies in many universities.

9. What is the cost of living for international students in Australia?
A. The living expenses in Australia are comparatively less expensive than the USA and UK.

10. What are the entry criteria for studies in Australia?
A. The main requirements for entering into an Undergraduate or Postgraduate programs are: English language requirement, Academic requirements, Visa requirements and Student health cover.

11. What are the various housing options available for students in Australia?
A. If the university the student is going to study has campus accommodation options, it is likely that the student can apply for these student hostels. If not, then the student has to arrange for their own accommodation in hotels or rent out a property and share it with other students.

12. Can I bring my spouse and children to Australia while I am studying over there?
A. Yes, this option is available for Master’s degree applicants. The Spouse / dependent of the student can get a “Dependent Visa” and a valid work permit for the same duration as the primary applicant.

13. Is it easy to find a job in Australia after graduation?
A. Australia offers a bright and promising future for students graduating from their universities. A student has good job opportunities if he is academically good and has the ambition to succeed.

14. What is the duration for visa application processing?
A. On an average, the Australian visa process takes between 8 and 12 weeks depending on the individual’s educational background. So the students need to apply for their visa at least 3 months prior to their course commencement.

15. When will I be eligible for the Permanent Residency (PR) visa?
A. Initially a student needs to complete 120 points to become eligible for the PR. These points are obtained by a combination of the following: age, education, duration of study in Australia, the state/territory where the student completed his/her studies, employment (atleast 20 hrs if working on part-time basis) and most importantly English language proficiency.

16. How do I apply to universities in Australia?
A. Each university has its own deadlines and requirements. Based on these constraints you need to apply as early as possible. If you have any further questions.
